All our obedience classes are on a Monday. They run for 6 weeks and are one-hour sessions.
We have a maximum of 8 puppies/dogs in any class.
We believe obedience should be fun for both you and your dog, and with us, your puppies/dogs will learn through positive, fun and reward based training methods.
Puppy Playschool is a fun introduction aimed at puppies between 2 and 6 months of age.
Puppy training classes are very important to your young dog, They need to be taught how to socialise with other puppies, dogs and with strangers.
Play and socialisation is the main theme on this course. The pups will get lots of chances for “free play” with each other. But you will also get involved with recalls away from the other pups and lot of rewards. Your puppy will also learn how to deal with the grooming and vet checks.
They will learn to sit, down, and most importantly recall back to you away from distractions i.e. the other puppies.
We discuss and give solutions to help you deal with things such as toilet training, play biting, jumping up, aggression and any other problems that are occurring with your puppy.
We like to start the pups off with an individual one to one half hour session first, during which Lu can explain the “Scrambles” method of puppy training and you can also discuss any problems you feel are particular to your pup and then you would join in for six consecutive weekly one-hour sessions with the other puppies.
The individual session would at any mutually available time and then you would start in the group puppy classes from 10.00am until 11.00am. During the summer months and when numbers warrant it we also run a 9am class. Total cost for 121 plus the 6 sessions is £125. This means you can start as soon as you are ready.
We have also found through the years that although ideally it is great for all members of the family to attend; it is not really necessary, so long as the attendee goes home and passes on what they have learnt and all persons carry out the “homework” with the puppy.
We are happy to accept puppies as soon as they have had their first vaccination.
Scrambles also make sure your puppy can go away with basic obedience and good manners. Jumping up and other anti-social behaviours can be dealt with before they are a problem and in a kind, positive way.
Make sure you always bring your puppy’s favourite toy and tons of yummy treats!
